About Advanced Automotive Battery Conference (AABC) 2022
AABC was founded more than twenty years ago to review the status of automotive battery technology and provide informed glimpses into the future. The program will uncover the underlying technical and business issues that will impact the pace and path of vehicle electrification worldwide. Join us to network with chief battery technologists from leading automotive OEMs, who will share their development trends and projected battery needs, as well as their key suppliers who will present their latest offerings and roadmaps for the future. Governments across the globe and international automakers alike continue their bullish outlook on the future of electrified transportation. Consequently, the technological development needed to support vehicle electrification must keep pace with rising expectations – batteries with enhanced performance, durability, cost, and abuse tolerance are indeed crucial to the viability of each of the hybrid/electric vehicle powertrains. Great event, the location was very accommodating. The topics were informative and useful.
Ocean Ballroom was large enough and accommodating. Speaker topics were relevant and concise.
Certain rooms could not accommodate crowd overflow. Additional rooms for shared audio were not identified in advance or were not available.

Great event, a great location.
High-quality relevant presentations, good A/V, recordings and files available promptly, no silly panel discussions
No app, so constantly need to go to the web. But the website is unusably slow. Terrible cellular coverage (not your fault) but this stressed the network adding to the misery. Venue prices were astronomical. Need to negotiate lower prices for food outside of the event.

Great oportunity to connect with automotive and battery cell manufacturers.
It was well set up for networking. The online messaging system, as well as the extensive networking-focused time, made it easy to connect with individuals from a wide variety of companies and backgrounds. The breakout discussions were also valuable in connecting with people interested in the same topics.
The website was well designed but was really buggy if it was open on multiple tabs or on both a phone and a computer. The networking focus was great. I think it would be valuable to have even more time focused on structured networking (e.g. breakout discussions) or finding a way to encourage more responsiveness over the online messaging system (I only heard back from about 1/3 of the people I messages).
The PLENARY KEYNOTE session was particularly interesting with great speakers selection.

Overall it was a great experience
It was a great setup for networking with others in the battery cell industry.
Do a better job of grouping the presentations into similar topics. There was too much variation in the heavy-duty section for instance. There was a presentation by Cummins on current and upcoming battery chemistry followed by a marketing presentation on a new commercial truck. Those two topics were too disparate.

Overall, very good and informative.
The 20 minutes Presentations regarding Raw Materials were very good. The two-hour presentations were also good, but two hours was probably a bit too long.
Provide more lead time before the event to schedule meetings. The agendas did not come out until a week before.

Review on AABC 2022
Personally, I had a really great experience from the combination of networking and learning opportunities. For the whole week, I was flooded with many meetings, keynote sessions and presentations from large corporations midsize firms, startups and university labs.
Nothing to comment on further. The event was really well organized, very satisfied with the speaker lineups as well.
