About Bloomberg Crypto Summit 2022

2022 is promising to be a historic year for the global cryptocurrency industry. After starting the year on a high, renewed recession fears in May, coupled with the collapse of stablecoin TerraUSD and its sister currency Luna, rattled the broader crypto markets causing additional drops in coins such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. Then in June we witnessed further price drops, cost-cutting measures, liquidity events, and fortunes wiped away as fast as they were amassed.

Despite the recent downdraft, there is no doubt crypto has firmly established itself in the global consciousness, with many characterizing it as no less than a complete revolution of internet commerce and social media. Still critics say it has little to show for all the action except a handful of new money kings and a long list of economic casualties. The truth, however, is always more complicated. For every meme coin rug pull, there is a legitimate project backed by serious people and discerning between the two is often not easy.

The event was oversold and the venue was too small and cramped to accommodate the conference, the breakout room audio-visual equipment kept cutting out, and the Wi-Fi was weak and spotty.
What did you like best about the event?
Got to network with others that were interested in the crypto world and hear their views.
What could the organizers do to improve the event?
Not oversold it or provide a venue in which scaling could occur so everyone could participate in one room, and better audio-visual capabilities, Wi-Fi that was strong and worked well, etc.

Great event and a line-up of speakers. Interesting comments and conversations.
What did you like best about the event?
Liked the thematic approach and the topics. Interesting speakers and backgrounds. The fact that the recordings were made available afterward was very useful!
What could the organizers do to improve the event?
It would be great to have more speakers from the trading/portfolio management side of things. It would be amazing to have the European iteration of this event as well, as it was quite US-centric.

Valuable insights for the upcoming months
What did you like best about the event?
The speakers at the crypto summit were some of the most influential people in the space. They were able to provide their opinions of the current market and correct some of the misconceptions.
What could the organizers do to improve the event?
The tech suite used for the event was not the best. The video stopped multiple times and the audio lagged occasionally.

What did you like best about the event?
Flexibility of the schedule; ability to join sessions ad hoc pending work availability. I was most excited to listen to Matt Levine's conversation with SBF and it proved to be informative.
What could the organizers do to improve the event?
The event was running a little behind in the morning. It would have been nice for it to be closer to the schedule provided for webinar attendees to plan around sessions accordingly.

Matt Levine's conversation with Sam Bankman-Fried was the most interesting to me due to Levine's ability to synthesize SBF's complex crypto theories.

I had a great experience as an attendee at the Bloomberg Crypto Summit. The summit provided a deep dive into the trajectory of the crypto industry and what to expect in terms of regulation.
