"Good tech conference for Vancouver!"

What I liked best about the event was the incredible energy and diversity of people and ideas. Web Summit brought together innovators, startups, industry leaders, and tech enthusiasts from around the world, creating a truly global environment for learning and connection. The keynote sessions and panel discussions were thought-provoking and cutting-edge, especially around topics like AI, sustainability, and the future of work. What stood out most was the access to networking—whether it was at structured roundtables or casual conversations between sessions, it felt easy and natural to meet people who were not only passionate about tech but also open to collaboration and idea-sharing. It wasn’t just about the talks—it was the spark of potential partnerships, fresh perspectives, and seeing how different industries are converging through technology. The mix of inspiration, innovation, and community made it a standout experience.

Web Summit is not only a reference in content for the technology innovation segment, but also an example of execution, everything runs so smoothly for an event of around 70,000 people. For speakers, it's a super experience. There is all the separate setup of support, for the catering and for participants. Also very good logistics as well as unmissable speakers, of course in content. One of the not to miss events every year.

Venue was really good. It was excellent for networking and especially to watch the innovation approaches in all industries through the start up categories. Then some country stands were really good. For example, Austria had a pit stop, an F-one pit stop and you are able to do the pit stop. Then the talks, we had many, many talks and then instead of missing them, you could watch them afterward in the app. Night Summit was also fun.

The Web Summit had some very fantastic speakers. Everybody from the First Lady of Ukraine, who talked about the war to other investors and fantastic venture capitalists and startup founders learned a lot, met quite a few people and would go again sometime soon. I think there's a lot of excitement in the air about tech, despite the markets being slow or having a downturn, lots of folks looking for new jobs and new opportunities. So it's definitely a very interesting event in Portugal.

I thought the event was very good. It was very large. the only thing that I didn't like is the food trucks and the food areas. It was all very unhealthy food. and it took absolutely ages to queue to get any food, I think as well. Maybe some more entrances. But from a vendor's perspective, it went really well. and it was a very successful event for me and the team.

What could the organizers do to improve the event?

The app quality can be improved. It usually stuck during peak hours. More features must be provided, especially inthe chatting area.

Good tech conference for Vancouver!

What did you like best about the event?

What could the organizers do to improve the event?

One area for improvement could be offering more structured networking opportunities tailored to specific industries or interests. While the open networking was valuable, it sometimes felt a bit too broad. Having curated sessions—like topic-specific roundtables or speed networking by field—could help attendees connect more meaningfully with relevant peers and potential collaborators. Additionally, a clearer event app or platform with real-time updates, room changes, and better speaker/session filters would enhance the overall experience. It was sometimes hard to keep track of sessions or find space in the more popular ones.

One of my favourite sessions was the panel on AI and the Future of Work. The speakers provided both inspiring and practical insights into how AI is reshaping job markets, productivity, and creative industries. It struck a great balance between optimism and realism, and the Q&A had some really thoughtful audience engagement. It felt highly relevant and forward-looking.
