Highways UK was the best convention we've been to in the last few years. Everyone from the sector came, we made a huge number of high-value connections, and the energy of the room left us energized.
What did you like best about the event?
The number of contractors and innovators that came together to discuss new ways of implementing technologies was both start-up-friendly and useful for the biggest market players.
What could the organizers do to improve the event?
The start-up pitches felt very much like an afterthought. They were in the last hour of the whole event and, crucially, were spread over the entire room so that the few people willing to stay were spread over about five stages. This guaranteed that almost no one came to any location, so even other start-ups didn't bother turning to their pitches, worsening the vibe. This needs to be rethought for next year, as it was a little embarrassing to 'pitch' to just the microphone handler.

Great experience! This was my first time attending Highways UK, and I will certainly be back. It was good to meet others from throughout the industry and talk about how they are tackling the challenges we currently face as individuals. Networking opportunities were fantastic!
What did you like best about the event?
The variety of exhibitors and the material/information on the show. All of it was relevant to key issues in the industry, such as digital delivery, active travel, sustainability, and the ongoing climate change crisis.
What could the organizers do to improve the event?
The check-in process and bag/coat drop-off were a disaster. Also, the variety of food and beverages on offer was not great. Background noise for those presenting was also an issue.

A very positive and high energy event.
What did you like best about the event?
A great annual opportunity to establish quality connections with a wide range of stakeholders in a short time.
What could the organizers do to improve the event?
Please promote Swapcard more and opportunities to create meetings. Also, mobile phone chargers were very slow - only a trickle charge.

It was a very lively event where I managed to touch base with many colleagues.
What did you like best about the event?
It is a great place to bump into people you want to talk to and to catch up on how the industry is developing.
What could the organizers do to improve the event?
Acoustics is a real challenge when trying to listen to the speakers or when trying to hear what others are saying when you are a speaker or a panel member.

It was a useful two days of connection and relationship-building.

Our stand looked great, and we had a huge footfall, a real buzz that made the event worthwhile.

I think that there were too many conference stages - it needs to be more focused.
