    The TES conference in Lisbon is one of my favorite conferences for a number of reasons. One, the networking aspect of it, you see a lot of familiar faces and get to build on those relationships very easily. They also, the conference provides a plethora of speakers covering all sorts of different verticals. So it really appeals to all of the attendees, especially having a multitude of speakers that are speaking at the same time as the speaker. The sessions are quite intimate in smaller rooms. So you can really engage one on one with a lot of those attendees.

    What did you like best about the event?
    The range of attendees who are deeply rooted in the industry, combined with the generally laid-back atmosphere of the event.
    What could the organizers do to improve the event?
    In my understanding and what I've seen in other conferences, talks are usually supposed to be informative and value-adding, not an advertisement for your company's services (even if they're value-adding). That's how I led my talk, but nobody told me to do so, and some other talks were a direct sales pitch. Also, as a speaker, I was just assigned a slot, and that was my interaction with the organizers - no quality control/guidelines. It was also funny that we had to bring our own clicker and HDMI adapter - if nearly everyone needs this, why doesn't the event supply those? It isn't right to ask for a speaker to pay to hold their presentation (which is supposed to add value to the event). Also, the Whova app was just used for mass spamming. In my case, I got dozens of sales pitches for services that aren't even remotely relevant to me if the sender were to read what I do.
