(See some below if you're in Full Profile view). I've always loved designing complex systems - which is what I do as an Information Architect (IA) and User Experience (UX) consultant. I've worked on experience design projects for Fortune 500 clients like American Express, Burger King and Bank of America, and have a Masters' from VCU's Brandcenter. I love working with clients on business problems and believe a smart creative approach can solve virtually any challenge. --So what exactly does a UX person do... exactly? If you've been involved in any type of online project recently, ''User Experience'' (UX) is likely a term you're hearing more of. UX people help clients design usable, workable interfaces across web, mobile and social platforms. A good UX consultant can help you with everything from researching your target audience, to defining a creative vision, to testing and implementing that vision. UX people are often the 'go-betweens' on a digital project, working up front with researchers and designers, and later with testers and engineers. Other important UX tasks can include SEO / analytics, usability analysis, and accessibility. While most seasoned UX people will have broad exposure across functions, they often specialize in one or two; my focus is Content Strategy and Information Architecture. --And what makes you a particularly good one? I'm a firm believer that creatives in the digital age can no longer get by on just ''being creative.'' We also have to understand how technology works and how users interact with it. My background combines Big 4 Consulting experience with Digital Agency experience, helping me to understand both sides of the creative / business equation. I enjoy walking the line between blue-sky thinking and the attention to detail required to make it happen.
