I have worked across the spectrum of international law and international relations. I formerly lived and/or worked in London; Cairo; Chicago; Washington, DC; Kyiv; Moscow; Minsk; Munich; Zurich; Belgrade; Bosnia and Herzegovina; and Geneva. My legal practice focuses on disputes before a range of international courts and tribunals. I am the Managing Partner of a firm operating in multiple jurisdictions in the fields of law, security and intelligence, www.the-paladins.com. I work for a range of corporations, individuals, sovereigns, financial institutions, international organisations and multi-national businesses. I specialise in the most aggressive high-pressure litigation, and in the most delicate and sensitive security and intelligence operations, always acting within the proper boundaries of the law. I am qualified to practise law in England and New York. My academic, policy and governmental work focuses upon the problems arising during and after ethnic civil wars; state-building; peace-keeping; and international relations and the workings of international organizations. I have written several books and several hundred articles. I was elected a Young Global Leader with the World Economic Forum, the international NGO headquartered in Geneva most well known for its annual Davos summit. The World Economic Forum named me as one of their New Champions. I was named one of the 300 most influential people in Switzerland by the Swiss financial magazine Bilan. I am a writer and speaker upon a variety of topics in international relations. I have written extensively on the contemporary politics of the Western Balkans, the relations between Russia and it's neighbours, and upon the Arab Spring and political events in the Middle East subsequent to that I have also authored a great deal on subjects in international law, cross-border investments and international sanctions.
