Gabor Steingart is Founder & Editor of the independent news platform ThePioneer. His daily ''Morning Briefing'' is Germany's leading newsletter and podcast in news and politics. Prior to that, he was Editor-in-Chief of Handelsblatt, Germany’s national business and financial daily. Steingart read politics and economics before graduating from the Georg von Holtzbrinck-School for business journalists. He began his career as a reporter for WirtschaftsWoche, Germany’s business weekly magazine. In 1990 he joined the German news magazine DER SPIEGEL, managing the business news section before moving on to the SPIEGEL office in Berlin. In 2007 he became SPIEGEL’s bureau chief in Washington, D.C.. Steingart has written a number of bestselling books, his most recent work is “Unser Wohlstand und seine Feinde“ (Our affluence and its enemies, 2013). For his work at Handelsblatt he was awarded the title “Media man of the year 2012”, by an independent jury of the magazine “Horizont”.
