Energetic communications and marketing director with experience on and advising leadership teams, launching and scaling global high growth media and technology companies incl being 3rd employee at Al Jazeera English, strategic comms lead at the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and currently enjoying leading global comms at one of the world's fastest growing AI companies, Signal AI. Previously Founder of Gingerwink Media, a strategic communications consultancy with international clients in the blockchain, enterprise tech, SaaS, AI, cloud, also climate change, health, NHS, government, intergovernmental and development spaces. More previously Georgie worked as part of the communications team at UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change leading on strategic digital & broadcast communications, working with lead scientists in particular, to better communicate with the global media. Georgie was the third member of the launch team of Al Jazeera English, where she worked as a journalist and developed the daily documentary show Witness and played a major role in the first political and strategic meetings with American distributors negotiating the channel being carried in the US. As Head of Global Acquisitions & Commissioning Editor, Georgie was responsible for over 100 hours of award winning global current affairs programming. Georgie also reported the Independence of Kosovo in 2008, and was one of the only western journalists to cover Somalia with Rageh Omaar. Georgie has appeared on BBC Radio 4’s Today Programme, BBC World Service Radio, BBC World TV and BBC Arabic. Georgie started her career working for Roger Graef OBE making current affairs programmes for the BBC, covering subjects from a malaria vaccine to restorative justice. In 2003 Georgie travelled around the Middle East and co founded with Henry Hemming, Al Braithwaite and Stephan Stapleton, Offscreen, a social and educational enterprise to foster cross-cultural dialogue between the Middle East and the UK and created the book, Offscreen: Four Young Artists in the Middle East. The Offscreen team was quoted by a senior UK diplomat as “Doing more for their country than a diplomat could hope to achieve in a lifetime.” She is a Cambridge University Climate Leadership Programme alumna & studied C# for a year in 1998.
