A former professional rugby player for Leinster, Ireland and the Lions, with a strong educational background now seeking to combine these skills in my current role. Throughout my career I have always sought to develop myself both on and off the pitch which has resulted in success in both aspects of my career. My educational background includes a degree in Medical Mechanical Engineering, a Masters in Management, Executive Education at Harvard Business School, a diploma in Leadership, Wellness & Executive Coaching, a qualified Gallop Strengths Fonder Coach and I’ve just completed my MBA from Trinity University. I have sought to develop my business acumen through my investment in several Irish companies, notably Pointy, which sold to Google in 2020 and through my representation of brands as Vodafone, Bank of Ireland and Leaseplan. Upon retiring, I worked full-time in the Irish Enterprise team in Google EMEA HQ, before revisiting the Start Up world which has lead me to Stripe where I am Irelands growth lead focusing on our GTM strategy for Ireland while further engaging with the StartUp Ecosystem in Ireland to enable Irish companies to thrive. I enjoy working in a dynamic, demanding high-performance team environment where my skills, education and professional experience assist in achieving the strategic aims of the organisation and teams that I work with. While playing, my purpose was to leave the jersey in a better place and I now endeavor to do that in my corporate career. My philosophy is built on a foundation of balance across your life to be at your best. Public Speaker, Sports Pundit, Business Owner and Investor. Now bringing what I’ve learned from high-performance teams to the business world and looking for opportunities to grow and add value.
