I am a health economist by training and leading a research group at the University of Eastern Finland (UEF) focusing on the data-driven health economics and outcomes research (HEOR). Currently, we are studying e.g. the health economic aspects of precision and digital public health approaches in the prevention and treatment of type 2 diabetes. I am also a Head of UEF House of Effectiveness, which is a multidisciplinary network promoting the value-based approaches in social and health care in Finland by facilitating an annual national meeting and providing education related to the topic of interest. In addition, I am acting as a scientific advisor e.g. for the Centre of Expertise for Impact Investing at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment of Finland. In addition, I have experience about the commercialization of research transferring science into practice in the generation of real-world data and data-driven insight in health care.
