Bio

I am a corporate partner at Freshfields who specialises in capital markets. My experience includes public and private securities offerings of all types, as well as mergers and acquisitions and general corporate work across a number of sectors. I regularly advise a range of corporate and investment bank clients. I am ranked in Band 1 in Chambers for ECM work and also top ranked in the other leading legal directories. In January 2015, I was named in The Lawyer's Hot 100 and in 2009 was named as one of the Top 40 next generation dealmakers by mergermarket. I am chair of the FCA's Listing Authority Advisory Panel (LAAP), a member of the FCA's Markets Practitioner Panel, a member of the Primary Markets Group of the London Stock Exchange and also of the Company Law Committee of the City of London Law Society. I advised Lord Hill on his UK Listing Review as published in March 2021. I was recently asked by the Chancellor of the Exchequer to be the independent chair of the UK Secondary Capital Raising Review, which is due to report to HM Treasury in the Spring of 2022. Recent equity work includes the IPOs of Pod Point, Deliveroo, Darktrace, Cazoo (via a US de-SPAC), Pepco, Trainline and Funding Circle, as well as the proposed IPO of Rubix, and fundraises by Aston Martin, Compass, Whitbread and Auto Trader. Clients include Pod Point, Deliveroo, Aston Martin, Cazoo, Hargreaves Lansdown, Pepco, Auto Trader, Compass, SSP, Trainline, Funding Circle, Spire Healthcare, ReddeNorthgate and Polymetal.
