In my role of Vice President of Community Health at Kaiser Permanente, I strive to build healthier and more equitable communities. My 25+ years’ experience as a leader in operations and information technology ensures that resources for Community Health’s $3 billion portfolio are deployed effectively, efficiently, and in full alignment of Kaiser Permanente’s mission to care. As a steward of the environment and advocate of educational and economic mobility, I am committed to driving impactful decisions by accelerating, amplifying, and scaling value for our members, in addition to strengthening support systems for our communities as we transition to a value-based care model. Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente, I oversaw components of the Medicaid line of business as both Chief Technology Officer at Magellan Complete Care (2012-2015) and then as Chief Operating Officer at Aetna Better Health of Pennsylvania (2015-2020). For these efforts, I have been recognized as one of Pennsylvania’s top 100 most influential Latino leaders by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Governor’s Advisory Commission on Latino Affairs. Through these experiences in addressing the social determinants of health, I have been able to forge deep partnerships with local community-based organizations, which coupled with my own multi-cultural background, have given me a unique lens for understanding the power of economic and social programs to transform health.
