I work as a physician & executive dedicated to building the models & cultures of care we need for our loved ones and healthcare professionals to thrive. I care about patients, the people caring for them, making clinical practice more impactful & energizing, improving health outcomes & quality of life for vulnerable populations, harnessing value-based care & technology to do better, and fostering the next generation of leaders. I currently lead national clinical strategy & excellence, care model development & innovation, and the clinical teams for Humana's Primary Care Organization (CenterWell & Conviva) as Chief Medical Officer (CMO), where we serve 250,000 seniors across the country as their community-based primary care home, with a team of committed physicians, advanced practice clinicians, nurses, social workers, pharmacists, and therapists, collaboratively partnered with great operations and business leaders. I previously served as CMO of CareMore & Aspire Health, innovative health care delivery organizations with over 180,000 patients in 30+ states. I also led CareMore’s growth & product functions as Chief Product Officer, including expansion into Medicaid and home-based complex care. Prior to CareMore, I joined Oscar Health during its first year of operations as Medical Director, designing technology-enabled clinical services for patients and clinicians in care management, utilization management, and quality, leading to Oscar’s initial NCQA accreditation. I was an affiliate Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College. From 2012-2014, I worked as national Medical Director at One Medical Group, practicing primary care & leading initiatives in preventive and chronic care, virtual care, quality and population health. Early in my journey, I worked at McKinsey & Company & the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission, a Congressional advisory body on payment innovation in Medicare. I attended Yale University, where I graduated summa cum laude with a BS in Biology, and earned my MD from Harvard Medical School and MBA from Harvard Business School. I trained in internal medicine at Brigham & Women's Hospital, received board certification, and live in New Jersey with my wife, son, and daughter.
