Start Up Day was an awesome event this year. I truly enjoyed attending it. It was full of different things. So there was a pitch place where you can learn about new start ups and what they're doing. So it's very useful for investors. Also, you can listen to new exciting speakers. Besides that, there was an networking area and a networking app where you can meet people that are interesting for you. You can make new partnerships and find new leads for your company. So that was awesome. And besides that, like in general, the event was filled with amazing atmosphere. So it was a joy attending it. And I recommend it to everyone based in Nordics, Baltics and beyond. Just to make useful connections, learn about new trends and yeah, find long lasting partnerships.

It was great to see startup day giving a platform to sex companies which are often excluded from mainstream startup events and especially now in a world where sexual freedoms like access to abortion and comprehensive sex education are under attack. It's more important than ever to give a platform to companies like and naked love who promote positive depictions of sexuality. All in all. It was a really enjoyable event. I will for sure be attending next edition.

I was surprised by the decrease in the number of investors attending.
What did you like best about the event?
It's still one of Estonia's main startup events; however, it's mainly the same investors year after year.
What could the organizers do to improve the event?
The organizers should finally understand that this event makes much more sense in summer (for example, August as it was in 2022 or the first half of Sept). Literally, everyone is saying this, but the organizers won't listen. :) It is crucial to get in more foreign investors. More and more startups are seen to attend only side events and not purchase tickets because it's difficult to meet investors inside, the meeting area is quite fully booked, investors get tired from speed dating, etc. It's becoming much easier to talk to them during the side events.

It was a good event with good talks but less good logistics.
What did you like best about the event?
The people, the vibe, and everyone were so helpful all the way through, especially since I had to rearrange my schedule at the last minute.
What could the organizers do to improve the event?
Logistics. The food and snack situation was terrible for us speakers; there was a "VIP Lounge" where almost everyone went, so there was never any food, and the one (1!) coffee machine had a 20-minute queue. Not good. And even worse with lunches, there were supposed to be lunch tickets, but no one knew where they were, so that took 30 minutes to get one, and then when I got on, I had to stand in the food court queue to get lunch, and the queues were another 30-60 minutes, which of course I didn't have since I was due up on stage again. So, no lunch for me. Also, there were no checks for allergies (which I have), so I couldn't eat any of the food anyway—so good logistics. Also, transport to Tartu is less than good; all I got was "hop on a bus and get there" or "rent a car and get there," which is not a good organization for people coming in from all over the region. Event shuttle buses, event drivers, etc, would have been expected.

sTARTUp Day 2024 was a blast!
What did you like best about the event?
I really liked how the event was organized, which included various areas where you could listen to speakers, learn about new startup ideas, and network with interesting people. Everyone is very outgoing in the event, so it's a great place to generate new leads for your company and to find partners.
What could the organizers do to improve the event?
I think that everything was perfect, but some free coffee wouldn't hurt. Also, partnering with more prominent companies that can provide value to startups, such as AWS, HubSpot, and so on, would be nice.

The Communication pre-event was very good. It was easy to navigate the floors once I arrived.
What could the organizers do to improve the event?
I would’ve wanted to see who was talking on stage when I bumped into some room accidentally. Some live info screen would do.

It was an organized and well-run event.

There is a good mix of movement between the 'rooms,' the stages, and the opportunity to connect with people.
What could the organizers do to improve the event?
For people new to the ecosystem/the event, assign a 'buddy' to facilitate introductions to people around the venue. This, of course, assumes that the person wishes a 'buddy'.
