Advertising legend Rory Sutherland once slapped me with a fish while I was dressed as a mermaid. The film evidence is out there, somewhere. I regret nothing, it was for an Ogilvy charity and, besides, I went from that career nadir (or peak?) to now leading Virgin Media O2’s advertising. Which just goes to show you, it’s not *just* about being a #brave and accomplished brand marketer who is able to persevere through – nay – rise above such humbling challenges. Most importantly, it’s about the total suppression of that fish-slap footage.
