Why to perform serial tasks while nature is mostly parallel? I am geoscientist with strong interest in high-performance computing (HPC). GPUs and supercomputers permit to investigate previously unsolvable problems at unprecedented resolutions. Recently, I developed GPU-based geophysical supercomputing applications and designed mid-sized GPU-supercomputers to shed light on fluid-rock interactions and ice dynamics. Current projects aims to better understand how multi-physics processes impact ice dynamics and the rapid migration of greenhouse gases from sediments towards the atmosphere. Mountains, snow, telemark and cycling get me away from the screen.
