I am fortunate to have gained over 18 years of experience in the areas of international customers’ relations and business development. I am currently working as senior manager of International Business Development at Telecom Egypt. Through my journey at Telecom Egypt, I have become more involved in the submarine cable industry, I have established an International Cables Investment and Agreements department with responsibilities and ownership for relations with global carriers and international customers; and I have also established the International Marketing department at Telecom Egypt, where I was overlooking both international sales accounts and marketing. I have earned a Professional Masters degree in Telecommunications Engineering at Cairo University (class of 2023), an eMBA degree from Nile University in collaboration with IESE business school (class of 2011) and a BSc in Electronics and Communications Engineering from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (class of 2001). I have had the opportunity to develop and present few papers over the past years. At ITS MENA regional conference in February 2019, in Aswan, I have presented an overview on the subsea industry and its importance to the world economy. I have also presented another paper at SubOptic 2019, in New Orleans, entitled “Egypt’s Commitment for Colossal Infrastructure and Regulations Refurbishment” which tackles Egypt’s pivotal role in the international telecom evolution, as well as, Telecom Egypt commitment to the international community and its new firm plans being developed catering for the new wave of subsea infrastructure crossing the country. During SubOptic 2023 in Bangkok, I have, once more, presented and introduced the International Canal of Egypt (ICE) which is by far the shortest and most secure crossing link between the Red Sea and the Mediterranean in the world, and a new testimony of Telecom Egypt's commitment to the global network of subsea cables. Ola speaks three languages fluently: English, French, and Arabic. She is highly organised, loves to socialise, passionate about knowledge and skilled in the field of research and intelligence. She is very avid about sharing knowledge in the subsea industry and any fascinating new piece of information she lands on. She believes in the openness of knowledge.
