Rathi Murthy is the Chief Technology Officer of Varo Bank, where she is leading the charge in building the first all-digital national bank to serve the underbanked through inclusive, intelligent financial technology. A trailblazer in her field, Rathi brings decades of leadership experience at the intersection of innovation, engineering, and customer experience.

Previously, she served as CTO and President of Expedia Services at Expedia Group, where she led the global platform strategy across brands. She has also held executive roles at Verizon Media, American Express, and Gap Inc., consistently delivering enterprise-scale transformation and building high-performing teams across global markets.

Rathi’s specialties span AI and agentic AI, ecommerce, online media, distributed systems, agile development, and scalable engineering services. Today, she is particularly focused on harnessing the power of AI to design systems that reshape services, user experiences, and the future of work.
